The legendary gaming brand will soon be available to New Jersey customers as the Stardust online casino is targeted for an April launch, pending regulatory approval.
It will operate under the Golden Nugget license, and replace the Betfair NJ online casino.
Betfair is one of the original NJ online casino apps, launching back in 2013.
FanDuel Group and Boyd Gaming officially announced the plans via press release Monday morning.
More about Betfair rebranding to Stardust
Boyd Gaming is the former owner of the Stardust Casino. And the site where it once stood is the future home of Resorts World Las Vegas (targeted for a 2021 opening).
So the time of this announcement is rather fitting as the Stardust name is gaining new life.
As Kevin Smith, president and CEO of Boyd Gaming, said “for nearly 50 years, the Stardust was one of the most famous casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.”
“We are excited to work with our partners at FanDuel to launch our first real-money online casinos and are confident this legendary brand will give us a significant advantage in connecting with players looking for a distinctive online gaming experience,” said Smith.
Like the other FanDuel Group offerings, the platform will be available via web browser and available for download on iOS and Android devices.
Betfair casino or FanDuel Sportsbook customers will be able to use existing credentials. The FanDuel Casino app is also live in the Garden State.
And this gives the Stardust app an advantage over some of the new brands targeted for a 2021 launch.

Stardust is a name Americans are familiar with, at least those who visited Las Vegas decades ago.

“Stardust Casino allows us to take a market-leading product to the next level, creating a unified platform across New Jersey and Pennsylvania and integrating Boyd Gaming’s B Connected player loyalty program to provide even more value to our customers,” said Howe.
What will the Stardust online casino app look like?
The Stardust Casino will be built on FanDuel’s proprietary front-end, apps and player account management system.
While the press release did not mention a specific number of titles, here are some of the “robust offering” of casino games, including:
- slots
- blackjack
- roulette
- video poker
- baccarat
Players will also have the ability to “securely and quickly cash out winnings.”
Responsible gaming concerns are also being addressed with the Stardust app as there will be numerous account protections built into the app.
As far as when the Stardust Casino will be taking bets again, April is only weeks away.
The Stardust Casino in Las Vegas was demolished in 2007. But unlike particles from the implosion, memories of the famous casino remain in the Vegas air, the hearts of guests, and in the pages of gambling history.
Stardust Casino has come alive again in the form of an online casino.
Boyd Gaming Corporation, which owns Stardust Casino, and FanDuel Groupannounced plans to launch Stardust-branded online casinos in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Stardust online casinos anticipated arrival is April pending final regulatory approval.

The Stardust Casino app will be available for iOS, Android and at stardustcasino.com in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The currentFanDuel online casino will remain integrated with FanDuel’s sportsbook and still be available in the App Store says a FanDuel rep.
For New Jersey, FanDuel says it will rebrand its existing Betfair Casino under the Stardust brand.

The Stardust Casino will be built on FanDuel’s proprietary front-end, apps and player account management system. The PA and NJ Stardust online casinos will be linked to Boyd Gaming’s B Connectedplayer loyalty program. Players can earn B Connected points and tier credits while playing on Stardust online casino.
According to Monday’s press release, the new Stardust Casino will have:

New Jersey and Pennsylvania players will be able to sign up for a new account or login using either their existing Betfair Casino credentials in New Jersey or their FanDuel fantasy/sportsbook credentials in both states.
Sprinkling Stardust on FanDuel
FanDuel operates its online sportsbook and casino in Pennsylvania through its partnership with the Boyd-owned Valley Forge Casino.

Last week, FanDuel Group announced the appointment of Amy Howe to the newly created role of President. She’s in charge of leading the company’s Sportsbook, Casino, Racing and Daily Fantasy units. Before joining FanDuel, Howe worked at Live Nation Entertainment where she served as Global Chief Operating Officer of Ticketmaster.

Record breaking month for iGaming
Online casinos in Pennsylvania posted a record-breaking month in January with more than $80.4 million in revenue.
It shattered the previous high ($71.6 million) set in December 2020.
In January, iGaming slot revenue was $51 million, a whopping 609%. year-over-year increase. Online table game games revenue hit $26.7 million, 479% YoY leap.
FanDuel online casino reported $14.7 million total revenue, with $6.8 million coming from slots and $8 million coming from table games. FanDuel was the only operator to produce more revenue from table games than they did from slots.
